Preta Maria Gadelha Gil Moreira (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈpɾetɐ maˈɾiɐ ɡaˈdeʎɐ ˈʒiw moˈɾejɾɐ]) (born 8 August 1974), known as Preta Gil (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈpɾetɐ ˈʒiw]), is a Brazilian singer and actress.^[1] She is the daughter of Gilberto Gil, a musician and former Minister of Culture in Brazil.^[2]
