Prudential Family Playhouse is an American television anthology drama series that aired on live CBS from October 1950 to March 1951.[1][2] It debuted on October 10, 1950, and ended on March 27, 1951.[3] Sponsored by Prudential Insurance,[4] the series features actors in adaptations of Broadway plays or best selling novels.

Among its stars were Gertrude Lawrence, Ruth Chatterton, Grace Kelly, Bert Lahr,[5] Eva Marie Saint, Jessica Tandy, Helen Hayes, Kay Francis, Kevin McCarthy, and Dorothy Gish. Its writers included playwrights George Abbott, Robert Anderson, Ruth Gordon, and Sidney Howard.[citation needed]
