The purple hairstreak (Favonius quercus) is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae distributed throughout much of Europe,[2] North Africa, Anatolia, Caucasia, and Transcaucasia.[3]
The larva feeds on Quercus robur, Quercus petraea, Quercus cerris and Quercus ilex.
