Rancho Santa Clara del Norte

Rancho Santa Clara del Norte was a 13,989-acre (56.61 km2) Mexican land grant on the Oxnard Plain in present-day Ventura County, California. It was granted in 1837 by Governor Juan B. Alvarado to Juan María Sánchez.[1]

The grant extended along the south bank of the Santa Clara River, east of present-day Oxnard and encompasses El Rio.[2] Today. the main ranch house (1860) of what remains of Rancho Santa Clara del Norte is located near the Saticoy Golf Club at the intersection of the 118 highway and Rose Street. The home and ranch are owned and administered by the Lloyd-Butler family. [3]
