Wilmot Reed Hastings Jr. (born October 8, 1960)[2] is an American billionaire businessman. He is the co-founder and executive chairman of Netflix, Inc. (provider of the Netflix streaming service). Hastings serves on a number of boards and works with various non-profit organizations. A former president of the California State Board of Education, Hastings is also an advocate for charter schools.[3] He is the majority owner and chief executive officer of Powder Mountain, a Utah ski resort.

As of September 2024, Forbes estimated Hasting's net worth at $4.3 billion.[4]
