Republika was an Indonesian national daily newspaper. The newspaper was known, and described itself, as a publication for the Muslim community.[1] The paper ceased publication in December 2022 and transitioned to online.[2]
On December 30, 1996, a few dozen protesters gathered to demonstrate outside the offices of Indonesia's leading Islamic newspaper, Republika, in the southern suburbs of the capital city of Jakarta.
