Rock Creek is a 19.1-mile-long (30.7 km)[1] tributary of the Elkhorn River that flows south of Wisner and enters the Elkhorn one mile west of Beemer.[2][3] The railway water stop and original plats where the village of Beemer is now located were named "Rock Creek" before Beemer was incorporated as a village in 1886.
The stream headwaters arise in Stanton County at 41°54′19″N 97°05′02″W / 41.90528°N 97.08389°W[2] at an elevation of approximately 1,650 ft (500 m).[4] The stream flows west to enter the Elkhorn in Cuming County at 41°55′41″N 96°49′57″W / 41.92806°N 96.83250°W and an elevation of 1,332 ft (406 m).[2]
Rock Creek was so named from its rocky river bed.[5]
