Roger William Byrne (8 September 1929[1] – 6 February 1958) was an English footballer who played as a full-back and captain of Manchester United. He died at the age of 28 in the Munich air disaster. He was one of the eight Manchester United players who lost their lives in the disaster on 6 February 1958. He made 33 appearances for the England national team.
Believed to have been born on 8 February, but this is an error. Various sources state September, which is confirmed by his birth registration.
