Rudolph Herman Christiaan Carel Scheffer (born 12 September 1844 in Spaarndam, Netherlands - died 1880 in Singaraja, West Java, Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia)[1] was a Dutch botanist and director of Buitenzorg Botanical Garden.[2] The standard author abbreviation Scheff. is used to indicate this person as the author when citing a botanical name.[3]
