It was a top-10 hit in the United States, number-one hit in Canada, top-10 hit in Ireland, top-three hit in the Netherlands, and a number two hit in New Zealand, reaching No. 8 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It also topped the US R&B and dance charts and the Canadian RPM Singles chart as well.
