Russian language in Latvia

Modern monolingual street plates for Krāsotāji Street and Mūrnieki Street in Riga and decorative trilingual plates with the historical street names, including in Russian (Красильная улица and Мурничная улица) that were in use from 1877 to 1918.

The Russian language in Latvia is spoken by a significant minority. According to the External Migration Survey in 2017, it was the native language of 36% of the population,[1] whereas 25.4% of the population were ethnic Russians.[2]
