Ryu Umemoto (梅本 竜, Umemoto Ryū, February 18, 1974 – August 16, 2011) was a Japanese video game music composer, born in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.[1] He is known for composing soundtracks to various visual novel and shoot 'em up video games since the 1990s, for several companies including FamilySoft, C's Ware [ja], ELF Corporation, D4 Enterprise, and CAVE. He is considered to be one of the greatest FM-synth chiptune composers, and has often been compared to Yuzo Koshiro.[2]
