Umbrella body of Indian farmers' unions
Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) (lit. ' Joint Farmers' Force ' or ' United Farmers Front ' [ 1] ), formed in November 2020, is a coalition of over forty Indian farmers' unions to coordinate satyagragh (non-violent resistance) against the three farm acts initiated in September of the same year.[ 2]
The SKM in opposing the three farm laws has asserted that laws are an unwelcome imposition on the farmers,[ 3] violate the constitution,[ 4] [ 5] [ 6] [ 7] are anti-farmer[ 5] [ 7] and pro big business .[ 8] [ 9] [ 10] [ 11] [ 12] [ 13] [ 14]
