The San Diego Open is an annual professional tennis tournament on the WTA Tour, held in San Diego, California. The tournament was founded in 1971 as a women's event called the Southern California Open.
Today it is held at the Barnes Tennis Center. The tournament is part of the WTA 500, a category governed by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).
