Sart

Sart is a name for the settled “Aryan” inhabitants of Central Asia. According to Great Soviet Encyclopedia, before the October Revolution of 1917, the name “Sart” was used in relation to the Uyghur and Uzbek merchants by Kazakhs, Kyrgyz and semi-nomadic Uzbeks.
