Satyam is a 2003 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film directed by debutant Surya Kiran and produced by actor Nagarjuna under Annapurna Studios banner. The film stars Sumanth and Genelia D'Souza in lead roles.[1] The film received positive reviews[2] and was very successful at the box-office. Released on 19 December 2003, it was one of the biggest box-office successes in Sumanth's career and it was also Genelia's debut in Telugu cinema. Chakri won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer – Telugu. It was remade in Bengali language as Shakti.
