Shahida El-Baz (Arabic: شهيدة الباز; (born 2 November 1938 - 21 October 2021)[1] was an Egyptian feminist[2] who wrote many books on Arab women's issues.[3][4] El-Baz was the General Director of the Arab and African Research Center in Cairo, Egypt.[5][6] She was a member of the General Assembly establishing the Arab Society for Sociology,[6] and Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) as well as the Executive Committee between 2008 and 2011.[1]
