Shifu is a Chinese title meaning "skilled person", "teacher", "master" or "master father" that is most often used in English to address a teacher of Chinese martial arts. It has a deeper meaning than just a teacher, but one of giving the utmost care for his pupils as would a father. It is also romanized as sifu from Cantonese or sai hu from Hokkien.
