- shikimate + NADP+ 3-dehydroshikimate + NADPH + H+
Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are shikimate and NADP+, whereas its 3 products are 3-dehydroshikimate, NADPH, and H+. This enzyme participates in phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan biosynthesis.
