Simon R. Blatteis

Simon Risefeld Blatteis (March 27, 1876 – June 11, 1968)[1] was an Austrian-born American pathologist and professor of medicine who led several efforts against infectious disease in New York. He was a leading organizer of New York City's Brownsville and East New York Hospital, for which he also served as the first President of the Medical Board.[2] He was engaged in the practice of medicine for over 50 years.[3]
