Simran Bagga (born Rishibala Naval; 4 April 1976) is an Indian actress, film producer, choreographer and playback singer who works predominantly in Tamil films.[1] She has also appeared in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada films. She is one of the most prolific actresses of Tamil cinema. She is the recipient of numerous accolades including three Filmfare Awards South and one Tamil Nadu State Film Award.
In 1998, Rediff called her "one of Tamil cinema's top female draws."[2] She won Cinema Express Award for Best Actress – Tamil in Vaalee (1999) as well her first Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Actress for Kannathil Muthamittal (2002).[3]
In 2008, she made a comeback to Tamil cinema with Vaaranam Aayiram which won her the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.
In 2019, she was featured opposite Rajinikanth in Karthik Subbaraj's Petta which became the highest-grossing film of her career. She reunited with R. Madhavan in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (2022) and worked in Gulmohar (2023), both of which earned her critical acclaim.
