Sneakers is a 1992 American caper film directed by Phil Alden Robinson, from a screenplay he co-wrote with Walter Parkes, and Lawrence Lasker. It stars Robert Redford, Dan Aykroyd, Ben Kingsley, Mary McDonnell, River Phoenix, Sidney Poitier, and David Strathairn. The film centers on a group of security specialists who are hired to steal a code breaker device, and realize that the job has nefarious and far-reaching motives.

Released by Universal Pictures on September 11, 1992, Sneakers was both a widespread critical and commercial success.[3][2]
