The Social Democrats (Irish: Na Daonlathaithe Sóisialta)[2] are a social democratic[3] political party in Ireland.[3] Led by Holly Cairns since March 2023, the party was launched on 15 July 2015 by three independent TDs: Catherine Murphy, Róisín Shortall, and Stephen Donnelly. It promotes the Nordic model of political economy[4] and pro-European views.[5]
