Solbiate (Comasco: Solbiaa [sulˈbjaː]) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northwest of Milan and about 12 kilometres (7 mi) southwest of Como. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,360 and an area of 4.1 square kilometres (1.6 sq mi).[3]
