St. Augustine Preparatory School[9] is a private all-male Roman Catholic. college preparatory school located in the Richland section of Buena Vista Township, in Atlantic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Located on 118 acres (0.48 km2) of wooded property, it serves students in eighth through twelfth grade from across South Jersey under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Camden.[10] The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1983[3] and the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools.[4] St. Augustine was founded in 1959 by the Order of Saint Augustine as a minor seminary to help young men prepare for studies in the priesthood and religious life; the first class was a mixture of seminarians and day students.[11] The school is a member of the Augustinian Secondary Education Association.

The school added an eighth grade in the 2021-22 school year.[12]

As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 669 students and 61.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.8:1. The school's student body was 84.6% (566) White, 7.6% (51) Black, 4.9% (33) Hispanic, 1.9% (13) Asian, 0.6% (4) American Indian / Alaska Native and 0.3% (2) Native Hawaiian / Pacific Islander.[8]

The school's graduating Class of 2014 was offered over $42 million in scholarships.[13]
