Stephen John Davies is a Distinguished Professor of philosophy at the University of Auckland, New Zealand.[1] He mainly writes on aesthetics, particularly the philosophy of music but also works on political philosophy.[2] He is a past president of the American Society for Aesthetics (2007–2008), and the New Zealand division of the Australasian Association of Philosophy (2001).[3]
