Susmita Bhattacharya is the Principal of Jhargram Government Medical College and Hospital in West Bengal since June 2023.[1][2][3] She is a Member of the State Level Expert Committee for AMR Containment constituted by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal since 2022[4] and retained her seat upon its reconstitution in 2023.[5] A Professor since 2013, she was the Head of the Department of Microbiology of College of Medicine and Sagore Dutta Hospital from June 2018 to June 2023[3] and served as a Member of the Medical Education Unit[6] and the In-Charge of the Central Research Unit at the same College.[7] She is noted for her research on surgical site infection and Staphylococcus aureus[8] and decontamination studies.[9]
