Sweeny Independent School District is a public school district based in Sweeny, Texas, United States. The district is approximately 177.3 square miles (459 km2) and serves the City of Sweeny and surrounding area. The mascot of the high school is the Bulldog, and the mascot of the junior high is the Friskie.[1] In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[2]
