Sylhet International University (SIU) is a private university located at Shamimabad, Bagbari, Sylhet, Bangladesh. It was established under The Private University Act of 1992.[1] SIU is affiliated with University Grants Commission of Bangladesh. The first vice-chancellor was Sadruddin Ahmed Chowdhury. The current vice-chancellor is Md. Shahid Ullah Talukder.[2][3] The SIU campus is located in the heart of Sylhet city, providing students with access to the city's amenities while fostering a conducive learning environment. The campus is equipped with modern facilities, including state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, a library, and computer centres.
SIU places a strong emphasis on research and development, encouraging both faculty and students to engage in research activities. The university has several research centres and laboratories dedicated to advancing knowledge and innovation in various fields.
