Talk:Ecology of the San Francisco Estuary

This Aricle states: "The position of X2 is carefully monitored and maintained by releasing water from upstream reservoirs in anticipation of export demand. This is mandated by in the Vernalis Salinity Standard, which was legally established to maintain habitat quality in the Estuary for wildlife and to prevent salinity from encroaching upstream to the export pumps.[11]"

X2 is controlled by water from the Sac R. side and SWP/CVP pumping; the SJR side (Vernalis) has less effect. The Vernalis Salinity standards in D-1641 were set to protect beans and other crops in the South Delta, not to control the location of X2. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.225.207.97 (talk) 22:01, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. However, you cite as your source the cryptic "D-1641 pp 150". Can you please clarify what D-1641 is, and if possible, give an online link to it. --Epipelagic (talk) 02:18, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
