I first tuned into KRSI AM 950 in fall 1981 and the programming consisted of standards and nostalgic hits. One year later in fall 1982, KRSI switched to a country format which was satellite delivered from Chicago. Early in 1984, the station switched satellite services and the station became Hot Rock 950, KRSI being delivered a CHR format from Dallas, TX. One year later in 1985, they pulled the plug on the satellite service and then played randomly requested music. The call letters were switched to KJJO by 1986 and the Classic Hits format of the FM sister station was rebroadcast at AM 950. Z-Rock was satellite delivered to this AM station in 1989. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.159.160.195 (talk • contribs)
