Wikify : Make redirects with possibilities for county list redlinkes to the section of this list. Add "in" variant as redirect to the proper page or redirected section of this list.
Scope Development : The scope should be discussed for consistency across lists per country. Phase 1 - deorphan the lake articles per country until country list is of sufficient length. Phase 2 - if a country list exists only top or high rated lakes for the country from WP:Lakes assessment should be listed - all others should trickle down to country and lower lists for the country. This is the prompt to be added to the talk page.
I note this list is by continent and appears to make no provision for lakes on islands that are not continents. Also as Oceania is not a continent but a region of continental islands, I have subdivided the New Zealand portion of Oceania, on the assumption that the other lakes are in Australia. It would be helpful if the country or countries around each lake were also indicated as this would assist locating the lake. -- kiwiinapanic 00:34, 9 Aug 2003 (UTC)
If you include man-made lakes from dams, please add Lake Karapiro to the North Island of New Zealand, and Lake Oberon to Australia (in the state of New South Wales). Actually there's also a natural? Lake Oberon in Tasmania, Australia, containing the endangered Pedder galaxias (Galaxias pedderensis) from Lake Pedder.
