The wording "also known as Bombay" was accepted according to these two discussions: Talk:Mumbai/Archive 15#Mumbai vs Bombay argument and Talk:Mumbai/Archive 15#Name of the city. While the city has been officially renamed 'Mumbai', it continues to be referred to as Bombay, and Wikipedia documents such usage per WP:NPOV. |
