Talk:Polymyxin

The statement "After binding to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, polymyxins disrupt both the outer and inner membranes." at the very least needs a reference. The one reference I have is pretty authoritative on antimicrobials and says that colistin act at the inner membrane, so the above statement appears wrong. (see p855 and 856 of "antimicrobial agents" edited by Andre Bryskier (2005) This sentence is also inconsistent with the colistin page and the polymixin B page Ambro17 (talk) 18:05, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article is very short. Some more information is scattered around the special articles on colistin, polymxin B and so on. I think the best structure will be to treat the subject thoroughly here and have the other pages only spell out some details specific for the drug, in particular the structure. --M palmer45 (talk) 13:42, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the additions! There are way to many stubs which need some help.... --Panoramix303 (talk) 18:59, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
