My name is Maggie, and I am a student who was recently involved with the Port Huron Project. I went on wikipedia trying to discover further background information on the project, but no results came up. As such I attempted to post information about the project beginning yesterday, 30 July 2007.
Because I was unfamiliar with the rules, and tried to post hastily, I mistakenly created an account using the name of the Port Huron Project, and the name of its creator Mark Tribe. However, I myself am the creator of the page. As is evident from the article's neutrality, and the omission of mine or other supporters' roles in the project, it is not self-promotion.
The information that I posted on the site should remain because it is a powerful performance art piece that has been able to reach a very diverse audience. The subject matter around which it focuses is valid and important to the history of the American political landscape, and the links and sources connected to the page will help further educate the Wikipedia community on the various historic activists that the project documents.
