Tarneit (/ˈtɑːnit/ ) is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 25 km (16 mi) west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Wyndham local government area. Tarneit recorded a population of 56,370 at the 2021 census.[1]
Located near another emerging suburb, Truganina, Tarneit is estimated to increase to a population of over 63,000 by 2031.[2] Tarneit and Truganina are the first suburbs in Victoria to have a majority Indian population.
