Tavrichesky District (Russian: Таври́ческий райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the thirty-two in Omsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,800 square kilometers (1,100 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Tavricheskoye.[1] Population: 36,458 (2010 Census);[3] 38,840 (2002 Census);[7] 47,751 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Tavricheskoye accounts for 36.0% of the district's total population.[3]
