This is a documentation subpage for Template:Creative Commons text attribution notice. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
This is a template to indicate the license type, URL and author or authors of material that has been copied into Wikipedia as permitted under a compatible Creative Commons license, and is usually placed in the references section of an article.
This template should not be used for content copied into Wikipedia that is dually-licensed, e.g., under a compatible Creative Commons license and the GFDL. See Template:Dual or Template:Dual4 instead.
This template should not be used when you cite a source but still write all the article content in your own words. Do not use this template inside <ref>...</ref>
tags unless you are quoting or copying content from the cited source directly (word-for-word) into the article.
This template should not be used if ShareAlike-only licensed content was copied onto Wikipedia with insufficient attribution in the initial edit. Use Template:CCBYSASource instead to repair the violation.
NOTE: CC BY-SA 1.0 IS NOT A COMPATIBLE LICENSE. SEE WP:COMPLIC.
