Reviewing... Onegreatjoke (talk) 22:05, 29 January 2023 (UTC)
- Actually, I think since you're the one that promoted this article to GA, you can't review it, unfortunately. From WP:DYKR: you're not allowed to approve ... an article if it's a recently listed Good Article that you either nominated or reviewed for GA. Krisgabwoosh (talk) 22:26, 29 January 2023 (UTC)
- Dang. I remember seeing someone review a dyk nomination that they review for GA so I had assumed. Onegreatjoke (talk) 22:26, 1 February 2023 (UTC)
- New reviewer needed; previous one may not review this nomination. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:47, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- Krisgabwoosh: New GA that looks fine. The hook is short and interesting, although both the hook and the article text need to be adjusted to match each other and the source better. The hook mentions "his own brand" of action figures and comic books, whereas the article says that "[a]ction figures and comic books portraying Arias made the rounds on social networks". From what I understand in the source article, there was one action figure/comic (in combination) created by a supporter and shared on Facebook. Other than that I don't see any issues with the nomination. Couldn't find any copyright problems and QPQ is done. Ffranc (talk) 14:36, 16 February 2023 (UTC)
- How about, in place of "his own brand" we change it to "his own self-styled line of". Krisgabwoosh (talk) 18:38, 16 February 2023 (UTC)
- If they were created by supporters they weren't really self-styled though, and if it was only one (the source is a bit vague here) it wasn't a line. It's nitpicking, but you could just simplify and say it "involved an action figure, comics and chocolate kisses". Ffranc (talk) 11:46, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
- I think "involved" is fine, with "styled in his likeness" being tacked on at the end. Krisgabwoosh (talk) 17:21, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
- Sounds good. If you put it in an alt hook that reads well I'll approve it. Ffranc (talk) 11:52, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
Alt1: ... that Iván Arias's eccentric but successful 2021 La Paz mayoral campaign involved action figures, comic books, and chocolate kisses styled in his likeness?
- I don't think the chocolate kisses were styled in his likeness, you need to find some way to make it work grammatically. There are also the minor accuracy issues: the article only mentions one action figure, not action figures in plural, and the comics were not published in comic books. Ffranc (talk) 12:25, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
- The article actually does use plural for both: "sus partidarios han creado diversos muñecos para representarlo" and "que protagoniza cómics cortos". For the latter, just use "comics" then. For the chocolate thing, just add "named" for "named and styled in his likeness". Krisgabwoosh (talk) 16:47, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
- Alt2: ... that Iván Arias's eccentric but successful 2021 La Paz mayoral campaign involved an action figure, comics, and chocolate kisses named and styled in his likeness?
- I changed it and approved it. Further down, the article says there was one action figure and another type of doll, which makes it vague. But it's of course a tiny issue and doesn't matter, sorry for dragging this out. Ffranc (talk) 11:47, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
