Andrew Dakich
Dakich dribbling
Created by TonyTheTiger (talk). Self-nominated at 00:42, 21 February 2024 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Andrew Dakich; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- Newly created article, plenty long and detailed with sources everywhere. Neutrally written, no indication of close paraphrasing issues. The hook is verified by the USA Today article, but it's not in our article. It says
For the second semester of the 2016–17 Michigan Wolverines season, Dakich was elevated from walk-on to scholarship athlete via an elaborate prank.[39][40]
You have to add what the prank was. QPQ is done. I see that there's a new backlog-related rule to review 2, but this is I assume grandfathered in as it was nominated before the rule change. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:40, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- User:Muboshgu, I have fixed the text. Do we really have to lose the Walton/Levert image?-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 04:05, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- According to MOS:SANDWICH, we do. Those images were too tight together and Dakich isn't in it. The article says the meeting was interrupted by campus police, not that he was "under police escort". – Muboshgu (talk) 04:09, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- WaPo uses the word escort.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 05:36, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- I'll take your word on that since WaPo is behind a paywall. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:15, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- I forgot to review the image. It's freely licensed and may look better with a crop. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:15, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
