The template takes one named parameter, and between 1 and 3 positional parameters:

The three-letter code (BDF in the example above) is the county code. Yorkshire parishes have two sets of letters; ignore the YKS (see "Kirk Ella" below).

Note that the Yorkshire parishes are named "The ancient parish of..." on GENUKI, which is added to the external link name automatically. The country and "YKS" (for Yorkshire parishes) are also automatically included in the URL.
