This is a route-map template for a New York City Subway line.
Note: Per consensus and convention, most route-map templates are used in a single article in order to separate their complex and fragile syntax from normal article wikitext. See these discussions [1],[2] for more information.
This template should be added to all Route Diagram Templates of New York City Subway lines. It adds the following text (without the surrounding box) to an RDT:
Adding an optional parameter will include the line name as a link, for example,
{{NYCS-routemap|BMT Broadway Line}}
will change the first line of the template to:
If the optional named parameter |service=
is included (with any argument), then "Subway line" will be changed to "Subway service". For example,
{{NYCS-routemap|service=T}}
will change the first line of the template to:
By default the template will be included in Category:New York City Subway line templates.
If the optional named parameter |service=
is included (with any argument), then template will be included in Category:New York City Subway service templates.
Adding the optional parameter |cat=station
will include the template in Category:New York City Subway station layout templates.
The optional named parameter |catidx=
will add a sort key to the category.
