Panoramic view of a portion of
Austins Ferry, Tasmania, a suburb of the capital
Hobart, with the
River Derwent behind it. Austins Ferry is named after James Austin, who along with his cousin John Earl, established a
ferry service across the river and later a
punt which proved very conveniently located for vehicular traffic travelling between Hobart and regions to the north.
