The
Fiddler beetle (
Eupoecila australasiae) is a colourful green- or yellow-and-black member of the
scarab beetle family from eastern
Australia measuring from 1.5 to 2 cm (0.59 to 0.79 in) in length. These beetles are strong flyers and can fly without moving the
elytra. They spend much of the time searching for
nectar and plant
exudates.
