Prince Edward Island dollar
A banknote in the denomination of one Prince Edward Island dollar. This dollar was introduced in Prince Edward Island (PEI) in 1872, when it was a British colony, by the Bank of PEI. It replaced the PEI pound at a rate of 1 pound to 4.866 dollars. Although PEI joined Canada in 1873, its dollar was reissued once before being absorbed into the Canadian dollar.
