Hello. I just wanted to let you know that when you add the title of a book, film, album, magazine, or TV series to an article, it should be italicized by adding two single apostrophes (''
) on both sides. Titles of television episodes, short stories and songs should be placed within quotation marks. More detail can be found in the Wikipedia Manual of Style. Thank you.
This template should always be substituted (i.e., use {{subst:Uw-italicize}} ). Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot. |
If you plan to make breaking changes to this template, move it, or nominate it for deletion, please notify Twinkle's users and maintainers at Wikipedia talk:Twinkle as a courtesy, as the standard installation of Twinkle adds and removes this template. Thank you! |
How to use:
{{subst:Uw-italicize}}
{{subst:Uw-italicize|Article}}
references a specific article{{subst:Uw-italicize|Article|Additional text}}
adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you"{{subst:Uw-italicize||Additional text}}
or {{subst:Uw-italicize|2=Additional text}}
also adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you", but doesn't link a page as specified by the article.
{{subst:Uw-italicize}}
rather than {{Uw-italicize}}
.1=
" if the article contains an equals sign and use "2=
" if the additional text contains an equals sign (such as a URL).
