The purpose of the "work in progress" tag is to identify reports at Wikipedia:Wikiquette assistance that are active and need attention. Editors are invited to review and participate.
The template is not for general use on article or projectpage talk pages. Every topic on such pages that is not {{Resolved}}, {{Stale}} or {{Stuck}}, remains a "work (or topic, rather) in progress", by definition.
Place the following under the topic heading of the WP:WQA report in question:
{{WQA in progress}}
To make an additional comment regarding the status of the work in progress, and/or to sign so that others know who marked the item as active:
{{WQA in progress|1=There has been improvement, but sporadic edit-warring is still happening. --~~~~}}
This parameter must be given as |1=
or |reason=
if any of its content contain the =
character.
If you do not want a link to the talk page to be automatically created, you can set 2=nolink
or type=nolink
. For example:
{{WQA in progress|2=nolink}}
==Disruptive editing pattern==
{{WQA in progress|~~~~}}
Despite pleas from several editors, {{User|AUser123}} persists using a highly disruptive method of editing at the [[FooBarBazQuux]] article.

:After some suggestions, the parties are engaging in dialog, but some reverts and incivility are still happening.
