What a useless series box. It's just a group of six random events that have happened in the history of Chile. - SimonP 01:27, Jul 23, 2004 (UTC)

Why I think this template should not currently be used:
The history of other countries use series boxes only as lists of major epochs, a list of random events will confuse readers.
A random collection of events such as this is better handled by categories
It is missing many important events, some which we have articles for e.g. the 1891 Chilean Civil War, or 1989 Chilean presidential election and many we do not, such as every other election in Chilean history. Currently it is very Amerocentric as it contains almost only events with American involvement.
However, if we were to add all of the other articles and potential articles to the template it would become unwieldy and garish. Imagine if we were to add a similar template to every topic related to the France.
Rather we should wait until the history of Chile article gets large enough so that it can be subdivided into a series of eras.
