The Farthest (The Farthest - Voyager in Space in the United States on PBS) is an Irish documentary film that chronicles the history of the Voyager program and its two space probes, Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, launched in 1977. In 2013, Voyager 1 became the first human-made object to leave the Solar System, reaching the interstellar space.[2] This makes the program one of the humankind's greatest achievements.[3] The story is presented through the testimonies of the NASA team involved. The film premiered 26 February 2017 at the Dublin Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award, and 22 August 2017 on PBS.[4]
