The Girlfriend (Spanish: La Amiga) is a 1988 Argentine-German historical drama film directed by Jeanine Meerapfel and starring Liv Ullmann, Cipe Lincovsky and Federico Luppi. It was written by Osvaldo Bayer, Alcides Chiesa, Jeanine Meerapfel and Agnieszka Holland. The film was selected as the Argentine entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 62nd Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.[1]
